Part 1: The Facial
We all know that celebrities have a few tricks up their sleeve when it comes to looking red carpet-ready (hint: Restylane jabs and plastic surgery tweaks). But there is a better, safer trick they all share. Ask yourself, what do Madonna, Kate Moss, Justin Timberlake and a ton of other stars have in common? Besides their desirable bank accounts, they are all followers of the Intraceuticals Oxygen Facial Treatment (ranges from $150-$250). Now, being heavily involved in the beauty industry (and a bride-to-be, I might add) I went to the best of the best to get the low-down on the facial – DLK on Avenue.
Intraceuticals is the only brand to offer a treatment with a serum specially formulated to be infused deep into the skin with oxygen under pressure. The treatments are immediate, and you can see the effects within 24 hours of the treatment. The effects are also cumulative so their is lasting long-term benefits (although its said to be most beneficial after multiple treatments).
What does it claim?
The Intraceuticals Infusion Treatments produce a significant improvement in the appearance of skin tone, fine lines, pigmentation issues and wrinkles and provides an instant visible lift for unparalleled immediate results. These results continue to improve with repeated treatment application.
How does it work?
The Intraceuticals Topical Hyperbaric Oxygen System delivers therapeutic grade oxygen under hyperbaric pressure to infuse hydrophilically active serums into the deeper layers of the skin. … And the truth (well, according to me)
I had no idea what to expect or feel – I was kindly instructed to “relax”. So I did. After explaining how the procedure works and what I will feel, I was extremely eager. It was very calming and was more like a facial and massage combined in comparison to other facials I had (where they pick and prod at you). First, my entire face and neck were thoroughly cleansed. Then the fun stuff began. If you have ever had airbrush makeup done before the feeling is so similar – it felt like cool air being softly blown against your face. She explained that the hydrating serum was being penetrated deeper into my skin with the assistance of oxygen. This entire treatment was just under 1 hour.
When I left, I had a glow to my skin (below), which then lasted for the rest of the evening and my skin was left feeling very soft and supple. It has been about 6 days since treatment and I had a few, almost unnoticeable, blemishes, which I imagine was the grime and toxins being brought to the surface. On day six my skin is still looking very clear with a bright skin tone and natural flush. Needless to say, I will be doing this again.
Part 2: The Products
My initial reasoning and curiously about trying oxygen facial lied in my self consciousness about my fine lines and wrinkles.
